UK Photography & Sculpture

UK Student / Teacher Exhibit

2nd Annual Student / Teacher Exhibit

Featuring UK Photography & Sculpture Departments

Nicholasville, KY, March 12, 2007, 2007: The Art Depository, 106 E. Maple Street, Nicholasville, KY will host an artist’s reception for students and faculty of UK March 30, 2007 from 4 pm – 8 pm. The reception is open to the public. This is the 2nd Annual Student/Teacher Art Exhibit sponsored by the Art Depository. All works will display from March 22 through April 28, 2007.

The exhibit features works of Assistant Professor Ruth Adams and her advanced photography students as well as Assistant Professor James Wade and select sculpture students.

This exhibit is an exciting mix of photographic techniques including traditional color and silver gelatin, Polaroid transfers, van dyke, chromogenic, gum bichromate and archival pigment. The images cover a full range of emotions from the satirical to the tortured. The avant-garde sculptures from Wade’s students blend metal and wood in a carefully balanced ballet.

The Art Depository has asked UK to return for a second year after last year’s successful Student/Teacher exhibit. According to Mary Kuster, the gallery director,

The high quality of work and professionalism from both students and teachers at UK warrants professional exhibit opportunities. It is part of our mission to bring these opportunities to the artists and the community. We are pleased to have the UK Art Department return to our art gallery.
